Renovations
March 29, 2009
Because Kim's mom is here to help take care of the baby, I took the opportunity to go down to Urbana and work on getting our house ready to sell. My previous tenants left the place quite a mess and there are some projects that we never finished when we lived there. I spent the weekend painting cabinets, buying a new dishwasher, and re-sealing the basement. There is still a lot of work to be done, but I've hired a contractor to take care of most of it.
I've been trying to come up with a list of things I want to do in Chicago before we move. I definitely want to go to one of the "molecular gastronomy" restaurants. Also I feel obligated to attend a Cubs game at Wrigley. I want to eat at a "chicken and waffles" restaurant. I should also take Kim to one of the famous steakhouses so she can see what a work dinner is like. Oh and I want to see the restaurant at the top of the Hancock center (I've already been to the top of the Sears tower).
Edit: More ideas - Visiting a Chicago blues club. Going to see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The river boat architecture tour.
