Does anyone know when Episode II tickets go on sale? I must get first-showing again.
This time 3 years ago, I waited for 18 hours to get my first-showing tickets. That's not as boring as it sounds. I showed up around 9pm the night before tickets were to go on sale to get in line. However, the theater manager didn't want us lining up until 6am the next day, so he kept running us off. We would go to the neighboring 24 hour Wal-Mart for half an hour, then creep back and try to start a line again. I remember at one point the theater manager yelling to us from across the parking lot, "Its only a movie!!!"
Eventually, we were allowed to line up, but by this time there were > 100 people there. The manager had us all run, starting at the edge of the theater property, to the line up point in one giant mob. I'm surprised no one got trampled. Once in the official line, the press showed up and began interviewing people. The radio station made an appearance. We staged mock lightsaber battles. People played Star Wars Trivial Pursuit. It was like a giant Star Wars carnival. I might take the morning off work the day tickets go on sale so that I can do it all again.
You know, something makes me think I've written this post before, but I can't seem to find it in the archives. I'll assume for now that its new.
